Social Value Policy

This policy details Viewdeck Engineering’s comprehensive commitment to generating social, economic, and environmental benefits through our operations, strictly aligned with the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012.

Social Value Policy

The Social Value Policy Statement of Viewdeck Engineering Ltd (the 'Organisation') is founded upon our core values and responsible leadership principles. This policy applies to all areas of our business, our employees, and all third parties undertaking activity on our behalf. We are committed to creating a sustainable and inclusive society by actively managing our operations in ways that optimise our value to the communities in which we work.

Social Value is intrinsic to everything we do; therefore, we manage these outcomes through a suite of interdependent policies and procedures that follow the national TOMS (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) framework. Our approach integrates our sustainment, environmental, wellbeing, and local commitments, ensuring we meet and exceed our obligations under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012. As a UK-based company with a global delivery footprint in Transformation Consulting and Cloud Engineering, we take full responsibility for the role we play in the lives of our stakeholders.

Governance and Organisational Framework

Social Value at Viewdeck is managed through a process infrastructure that integrates our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy with our Sustainability and Environmental Policy. This governance structure ensures that our social value objectives are not isolated goals but are delivered through bespoke local plans and established process infrastructure. Accountability is maintained at all levels, with ultimate responsibility resting with the Board of Directors, flowing down through formal agreements into our wider supply chain.

Our Commitments

We are committed to driving customer value and generating social, economic, and environmental benefits through five core pillars:

Collaboration and Innovation

We work continually to improve our products and operations for the benefit of our customers, local communities, and other stakeholders. Our commitments include:

  • Collaborating with peers, partners, academia, and local communities to drive best practices.
  • Partnering with voluntary groups, charitable organisations, and social enterprises.
  • Supporting targeted initiatives aligned to global, national, and regional social objectives.
  • Implementing these objectives through our direct workforce and throughout our supply chains.

Coequality and Workforce Development

Our people are our greatest asset, and we ensure everyone has equal opportunities to grow through training and personal development. We will:

  • Promote workforce diversity by targeting harder-to-reach and under-represented groups.
  • Provide accessible, entry-level employment and training opportunities for local people.
  • Upskill our workforce through a structured training regime and implement educational programmes to promote industry skills.
  • Promote Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) principles in all professional interactions.

Championing Local Economies

We are dedicated to championing local economies and creating opportunities for small businesses. This involves:

  • Promoting accessible entry-level opportunities specifically for local SMEs.
  • Supporting SMEs to improve their business performance, resilience, and capability.

Community Empowerment and Wellbeing

We strive to empower the community and bring people together to create a better environment for everyone. Our actions include:

  • Involving people in the decisions that affect them and being a "good neighbour" to promote social interaction.
  • Supporting the development of healthy, strong, and resilient communities through self-help initiatives.
  • Supporting voluntary and charitable groups through meaningful dialogue and accountability.
  • Taking direct action to support the physical and mental health of our employees while influencing our suppliers to do the same.

Climate and Environmental Responsibility

Fulfilling our responsibility for environmental goals is a priority as we work to reduce our impact on air, land, and water. We commit to:

  • Implementing responsible practices to reduce carbon in our operations, materials, and delivery methods.
  • Working with customers and our supply chain to deliver net-zero carbon emissions.
  • Using water and resources responsibly while supporting the circular economy and reducing pollution and noise.
  • Implementing responsible procurement practices throughout our operational lifecycle.

Communication and Reporting

Viewdeck promises transparency in all communications regarding our social value impact. We define clear objectives and outcomes, assess potential risks, and track performance using recognised measures. By capturing and sharing our learning, we inform future decisions and drive continuous improvement in social value outcomes for all external and internal stakeholders.
