Effective performance management is critical to a business. Through formal and informal processes, it helps to align people, resources and services to meet strategy and corporate vision. It can support decision-making by providing early warning of risks or problems, and allow stakeholders to know when and where to make adjustments to keep deliveries on track. Organizations with proper performance management become successful, with staff "moving in the same direction" - to the best of their ability. Often, performance management systems are slow at best.
